Pump Warranty
This is a high quality professional pump that comes with a 2 year warranty when properly installed. SteelPumps are designed to be serviceable long into the future with common service components located behind an easy to remove electrical cover. The capacitor, pressure switch, flow sensor and control unit are all easily accessed.
Pump Repairs and Servicing
Disassembly of the entire pump is straightforward using basic tools, and ALL parts, including nuts and bolts, are available to order individually from the manufacturers website: wwww.steelpumps.co.uk. There are no corrodible mechanical parts within the pump, no potted electronics, no crimped wiring (everything unplugs). Service diagrams and information provided on request.
While other brands are ‘production engineered’ to be assembled fast and never taken apart, Steelpumps can be maintained for as long as spares are made. They are designed to last.
Optional Extras
Floating Intake
A Floating Intake is essential if you are using this pump inside a water storage tank in a rainwater harvesting system. It helps you to abstract the cleanest water through your pump as the stainless steel mesh intakes floats about 6 to 10cm below the float. It ensures that small light particles that have floated to the top of your stored water are not abstracted. Similarly, it also ensures that the heavy particles that have sunk to the bottom of the tank are not disturbed or abstracted. A 1" floating intake with 1m of connecting hose will suit most systems, but further Floating Intake options are available or contact us by email with your specification.
Float Switch
Float Switches are a great bit of kit when you are using a water pump inside a storage tank. These dual purpose Float Switches can be used for Tank filling (a high level cutout) or Tank Emptying (a low level cutout) - depending on how you wire the Switch up. Other Float Switch cable lengths are available. Also available for purchase, Counterweights to attach to the Float Switch cable to create the pivot point for the Float Switch.
Pressure Vessel
Also known as such as expansion vessels, pressure accumulators and surge arrestors. For permanent pump installations, a pressure vessel prolongs the life of your pump by providing a reserve of pressurised water to your system. It therefore limits the number of restarts of and wear on the pump when it is used for quick short periods of time. For example, if someone were to wash their hands, water would initially come from that stored inside the pressure tank, if the tap was then closed, the pressure vessel would automatically refill from the mains pressure without the need for the pump. The pump would only need to kick in once the pressurised water from the tank has been used i.e. if you were to fill a bath or use the shower. Pressure Vessels are available in different sizes to suit your needs. By avoiding false re-starts they also save you energy, saving money over their entire lifetime.
Compression Adapter
If however you intend to connect hard blue or black 32mm MDPE pipe to the pump, you will need a 1.25" compression adapter (please ensure you select the correct size on the compression adapter page).

FAQs
What is the difference between the "P", "B" and "PRO" versions of SteelPumps?
The "P", "B" and "PRO" suffixes of the SteelPump range of intelligent pumps refers to the build properties of the pumps. Essentially;
- P = Designed primarily for portable and garden use.
- B = Designed for domestic and light commercial use.
- PRO = Extensive use of stainless steel and brass within the pump build and therefore designed for commerical and industrial use.
