In-tank Rainwater Harvesting Pump Kit with Mains Water Top-up Set
This Rainwater Harvesting Pump Kit is includes everything you need to pump the water out of your Rainwater Storage Tank. It is suitable for all new and exisiting water storage tanks, including PE, GRP and concrete tanks (like for example Enduramaxx, Rototek, Wydale and Balmoral). This Kit comes complete with a Top-up Controller Set which fills the tank with Mains Water if the rainwater level gets too low, this ensures a year round supply of water to appliances in low rainfall periods.
The SteelPump sits on the floor of your storage tank. The internal height of your rainwater tank will therefore determine the length of Turret Hose you require (see options above).
This Pump Kit is pefect for pumping non-potable water for use in your home or garden. The pump's built in dry-run protection software along with the Kit's Top-up Controller Set ensures that there is always water in your storage tank to pump.
With good planning and the right components, a rainwater harvesting system can be nearly maintenance free and the rainwater quality ideal for many uses both in the home, workplace or in industry. A professional system will have four steps of rainwater cleaning. The Floating Intake included in this Kit is the 4th Step. The first three filtering steps are included in our Rainwater Harvesting Filter Kits.
Rainwater Harvesting Pump Kit Components
SteelPump
The X-AJE80P professional quality automatic jet-pump, with stainless steel motor body. Submersible and self-priming is ideal for domestic non-potable water supply. The intelligent pump responds to pressure in the delivery pipe. It turns itself on when there is a demand for water, then switches off again automatically once the demand has been met.
The dry-run protection in the pump’s software, ensures a longer life for your pump as it will not run when there is no rainwater in your tank.
Pump Warranty
This is a high quality professional pump that comes with a 2 year warranty when properly installed. SteelPumps are designed to be serviceable long into the future with common service components located behind an easy to remove electrical cover. The capacitor, pressure switch, flow sensor and control unit are all easily accessed.
Mains Water Top-Up Controller Set
This Pump Kit includes the best selling TCA5000950 Top-Up Controller Kit to supply your tank with Mains Water when the collected rainwater runs low. This ensures a year round supply of water to appliances in low rainfall periods.
The Controller uses a solid state conductivity sensor to sense low water level, avoiding the movement and accuracy issues of a float switch. Conductivity sensors experience no mechanical wear during use leading to long lifespan and reliability.
Electronically timed top-up overrun alarm, halts operation and alerts the user in the event that the tank level fails to be replenished by the top-up cycle. Prevents potential wastage of water due to tank or duct failure. Alerts the user to failure of the solenoid valve.
Pump isolation is optional using the front power socket, and allows the Controller to isolate the pump during a top-up cycle to avoid water usage exceeding the rate of replenishment.
Water is topped up via a BSEN13076 and BS8515 compliant Tundish. The 3P Tundish acts as a Type AA air gap to comply with BS EN 13076: Devices to prevent pollution by backflow of potable water. The 3P Tundish itself and its’ ½” feed nozzle are both freely rotatable in the wall mounting bracket (supplied).
The Controller Set includes:

- Ball Valve, for isolating mains water supply,
- 30cm stainless steel braided mains water connection hose with Isolation Valve,
- 1/2” solenoid valve,
- 3P Technik Tundish with Steel Wall Bracket (DN40 overflow, DN50 outlet).
- Control Unit,
- 15m conductivity probe.
- "Shuko" (European) Mains Plug. This is supplied in order to allow you to connect any pump to the European style mains socket on the front of the Control Unit.
Floating Intake 1m
The Intake floats below the water surface (where the cleanest water is found), at a maximum of 1m above the SteelPump water inlet (dependent on the amount of water in your storage tank). The Floating Intake’s fine stainless steel mesh filters the water before the it is extracted by the pump. The Intake also has a non-return (check) valve within it.
Pump to Turret Hose
The Pump to Turret Hose connects the pump outlet of your SteelPump to the turret of your rainwater tank.
Designed to fit vertical or horizontal PE, GRP or concrete water storage tanks.
Your SteelPump sits on the floor of your storage tank. The internal height of your rainwater tank will therefore determine the length of Turret Hose you require, choose from the options above. For other lengths please contact us.
