Product Description
DAB Water Pump. The Divertron 650 Mesh is a submersible water pump suitable for clean water. This version comes with a factory fitted Float Switch.
Perfect for pumping clean rainwater or for installation in a well or bore hole when when positioned clear of bottom sludge. Only 160mm diameter.
The Float Switch detects the water level, and prevents repeat starting routines. It also provides additional protection against dry running. In addition, the float also prevents the pump from becoming blocked due to a continuous lack of water. The float switch cable is approx 50cm. Also available without the Float Switch - DAB Divertron 650M.
Divertron water pumps by DAB are submersible electronic multi-impeller pumps for clean water designed to increase water pressure, rainwater reuse, gardening and irrigation in residential building service.
Divertrons are ideal for the use in rainwater recovery systems and to increase water pressure from a cistern or a tank, that can be used for example for garden watering or vegetable garden.
This "Standard" Mesh version of the Divertron pump has a 360o mesh intake at the bottom of the pump (the X version has a 1" threaded inlet suitable for adding a floating intake).
Divertron pumps have integral pressure switch, flow sensor and the control electronics for automatic on and off switch. The automatic operation allows the pump to start and stop autonomously according to the requirements of the system and protects it from the run dry.
The pump is supplied with integrated start capacitor (it is inside a compartment accessible without disassembling the pump), a built-in non-return valve and a 15m power cable with schuko plug (2-pin).
This is a 2nd generation of Divertron pumps from DAB. It has many new improvements from the previous versions (the Divertron 1000), including the accessible capacitor mentioned above. For a full list of the improvements and differences to the previous design, see the New Divertron blog post.
Optional Extras
Pressure Vessel
Althougth the capacitor is now easily accessible in this new version of the Divertron, we still recommended you install a small pressure vessel (expansion tank) with this pump. A pressure vessel provides a reserve of pressurised water to your system and therefore limit the number of starts of and wear on the pump when it is used for quick short periods of time. It therefore prolongs the life of your pump. For example, if someone were to wash their hands, water would initially come from that stored inside the pressure tank, if the tap was then closed, the pressure vessel would automatically refill from the mains pressure without the need for the pump. The pump would only need to kick in once the pressurised water from the tank has been used ie. if you were to fill a bath or use the shower.
Pressure vessels also protect the pump from Water Hammer by absorbing any shock to the system for example if a tap is closed too quickly.
Connecting to hoses and pipes
The pump comes with a multi-hose reducer to connect to a garden hose (a hose clip is required - see options above).
To connect to a 3/4" garden hose simply screw the mulit-hose reducer into the outlet and connect the hose and secure the hose with a stainless steel hose clip.
To connect to a 1" garden hose, follow the instructions in the Quick Guide to reduce the height of the multi-hose reducer, connect the hose and secure with a stainless steel hose clip.
If however you intend to connect hard blue or black 32mm MDPE pipe to the pump, you will need a 1" compression adapter (please ensure you select the correct size on the compression adapter page).
